I'm just going to drop these gorgeous photos right here for you guys to peruse because my senior Lauren just made it that easy to produce such amazing photographs. While I'm pretty competent with my photographizing, Lauren here, did most of the heavy lifting. Them eyes though... Just in case you were wondering, she got her looks from her mom ;)

It has been a hectic year for me so I haven't been able to update the blog, but alas I CAN NOT deprive the world of such beauty...beauties I guess, since I'll be posting a few more shoots from the class of 2017. What I can tell you about my brief interaction with Camryn is that she is awesome, demure, hardworking, seems like someone who will always come through in a crisis. It sure doesn't hurt that this lady is gorgeous! This photoshoot was taken a few weeks before school begins, but Camryn has already started working on the yearbook for 2017. Camryn definitely has the work ethic to succeed in a work environment. If you know her let me know if I'm right on. and talk about perfect tan....
One thing you need to know about Alexandra is that she is reserved, cool and home gurl got style that is so effortless, minimalistic and elegant chic. I am just forever impressed at how put together and stylish these ladies are. I have a feeling that when we look back at these styles they are wearing in 5-10 years it would still look cool as heck! I can't say the same for me and some of my friends that have graduated over 10 years ago from high school lol... We can't seem to recall being this stylish when we were 18. Feast your eyes on this cool young lady and yes, it is normal to be a little envious. I also had the privilege of hanging out with her mom, her gorgeous and smart sister... All I can say is, so much strength and girl power all in one general are! I have so much love for these people. I know that whatever Alexandra choose to pursue in the future it will be chic and cool! So hit me up when you have a cute chic business and you need someone to photograph the process and the product!
Have you ever met someone and instantly you say this such a sweet person? Well if I've ever met one it would be this senior. Megan possess that je ne sais quoi classic hollywood beauty. She is not just a pretty face but an academic force to be reckoned with; so girlfriend when you become famous let me take your photos.
Since the shoot in 2013 that my husband and I collaborated on with the flowering trees, it got me obsessing over flowering trees! Matter of fact the photo of the Author is from the very session we did in 2013! This set of photo and styling was put together within about 2 weeks. The components are pretty simple:
Katrina was amazing and move so gracefully it was easy to get the shots we were hoping to capture.
I am forever impressed at how positive, driven and smart these high school seniors are, and it shines through in their photos. After all, as Hellen Keller said, "No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit". This lady is witty, stunningly gorgeous and fierce!
Just because it's still winter in Minnesota doesn't mean we can't enjoy an outdoor shoot. Thankfully, this past Saturday was unseasonably warm, so we grabbed a couple of friends, and a pretty model, before heading to a spot we've been itching to photograph for quite a while now: The Soo Line/Arcola High Bridge! Canon 5D Mark III + Sigma 24-105mm f/4.0 OS Art Lens After making our way towards Stillwater, MN, and parking our cars, we trekked out to that glorious bridge, only to find the predictable product of a mild Midwestern winter...a bleak and barren landscape. Fortunately, we came prepared for this very situation, and broke out some color bombs and sparklers to add a much needed pop of color to the scene. The great outdoors provided us with plenty of working space to use one of our favorite portrait lenses, the Canon 135mm f/2.0L, helping to compress the background, as well as enhance the effect of the colored smoke. When the shoot moved underneath the bridge, we switched to the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art. This afforded a wider field of view to capture the colorful wall art, as well as an extra stop of light. We had a blast on this day-trip, and look forward to revisiting this spot in the future. We hope you enjoy the photos and video! Please feel free to leave questions or feedback below, and check back soon for updates. Thanks! I finally gotten around to finishing up the last bit of La'Donya senior photoshoot and all I have to say is wow! The girl has gotten a golden resilient soul that keeps on inspiring. I told her about my favorite times to shoot and she is determine to make the early rise and braved the frosty temperature of 32 °F! I gotta tell ya, my toes were fff...roozen, but it was all worth it. See beautiful images below and thank you La'Donya for being such a great sport! Enjoy guys and let me know if you have any ideas, comment or feedback. This shoot took place right after the first frost this year when it dropped to the low 30s outside but then warmed up a few days right after.
It was pitch dark out when I got a text "I'm here" at 6:50 a.m. I quickly finished packing up my gear and headed out my front door to wait. It was still so dark out that it might as well have been midnight, and my imagination started to get the best of me. My mind started running through all of the worst case scenarios about being alone in dark alleys, but still I saw no movement...nothing. Finally, a figure emerged from the darkness, then a face illuminated by a nearby street lamp. It was Amber, and she'd come to save me! This shoot was so much fun and we even met the cutest dog ever!!! Proof, see photo below. Also please comment and let me know what you think.
We woke before the sun even thought about peeking through the horizon. It was nice and chilly but very tolerable outside as we stepped out of the car to meet with Natalie, her mom and her best friend for a senior portrait session. The mood was instantly upbeat and positive, and we already felt like this would be the best photo session yet! When I first met Natalie when she was referred to me by my niece Vivian. Neither of us knew what to expect, but as you get used to working with different models, you learn to be open to just about anything haha... Once we started talking about what she was expecting and what her vision was... I instantly became smitten with this girl. She knows what she wants and got straight to the point! After a few short minutes I had a clear idea of what the shoot was going to look like, and as brainstormed through texts back and forth, we agreed upon the idea of incorporating the color bombs. We are so thankful to have had an opportunity to capture a milestone in Natalie's life that we will cherish for a longtime to come. Natalie is such a strong minded, mature, and determined individual that we have no doubt she will accomplish great things.
